Galaga Comes to Xbox Live Arcade

galagaOne of my favorite arcade games of all time, Galaga, has made its way onto Xbox Live Arcade today. Unlike some of the other classic games to make it to XBLA (hear me Frogger!) this one appears to be a faithful rendition of the original game, complete with online scoreboards and Xbox Live achievements. It’s appeared in numerous other compilations and emulators, but it’s the first time it’s on the 360. It doesn’t really add any gameplay modes, but why change a good thing?

Created by Namco back in 1981, this was one of those rare sequels (Galaxian’s offspring) that outdid the original.

For the low, low price of 400 marketplace points ($5 USD), you too can relive the salad days.

P.S. If you’re really jonesing for a Galaga fix right this second, check out this strikingly faithful Flash-based clone.
