DVD Tv Combo Channels Apple Looks (Sorta)
July 30th, 2006
Our friends over at Oppo Digital, makers of the universally loved OPDV971H DVD Player, have just released this odd little DVD/LCD TV combo, the LT-2007. Combining a 20″ LCD screen (4:3 ratio) and a DVD player into a single white housing, the set displays a striking resemblance to some of the early Cinema Displays from Apple. Sporting an “enhanced” resolution of 800×600, it’s certainly not going to compete with any HD sets, but for basic DVD viewing in a limited space, such as a dorm room or a kitchen, it might be okay.
In addition to the requisite component, composite and S-Video inputs, the set features a tiltable stand, a built-in 181 channel NTSC tuner, 3 watt stereo speakers and a VGA input so you can use it with a computer as well (although I cannot imagine the giant pixels at 800×600 on a 20″ monitor). The DVD player does support a wide variety of formats (as OPPO is known for), including DVD-Video, DivX
