Solid Wood Computer Peripherals

December 21st, 2006 by: Technabob

wood contour pc peripheralsWhile the rest of the world continues to become more and more plastic, the folks over at Wood Contour are interested in using natural materials in their products.

For starters, Wood Contour offers keyboards, mice and monitors constructed from solid hardwoods such as cherry, mahogany, beech, oak, ash, and maple. Each device is made entirely from a single, solid piece of wood. Even the key caps on the keyboards are made from wood. All this intricate labor does come at a price though, with 17″ monitors running about $400 bucks and mice around $150. I couldn’t even find a price for the keyboard, but I imagine they’re very expensive.

Now if they could only make the PC itself from wood, that would complete the picture. I guess an original Apple I would do the trick.

I recently brought a Barebone CPU in wood and built it myself…The case it’s self was 104.00 with tax.. It’s beautiful.. It looks like a oldtime radio. Got from Newagg.com
