To answer your question…. If you live in the U.S. or Japan, you can play almost any PS1 or PS2 title on your PS3. If you live anywhere else, you may have more limited compatibility with PS2 titles, but you’ll still be able to play many of them.

And no, you can’t play PS3 games on a PS2 anywhere (nor can you play them on an Atari 2600.)
