Cingular Posts iPhone Signup Page
January 11th, 2007
Cingular has now posted a page on their site where you can now sign up to be notified when and how to order your Apple iPhone.
With all of the excitement about Steve Jobs’ new baby, I think there’s a good chance these things will be going for more than retail on eBay for the first few months.

Hmm… We have a chicken and egg situation…

This could be a neat phone. I’d prefer the one running Free software… also, I like green.
There’s no doubt that the iPhone will sell well, but I’m more concered with Apple’s plans for business customers.
The bottom line is, if the iPhone can’t run mobile Office, work with Exchange, it’s going to struggle.
Unless there’s some deal in the pipeline with Microsoft, which isn’t outside the bounds of reality…
I’m reasonably sure you’ll be able to sync with a local copy of outlook. The real issue is whether or not there’s any Exchange server connectivity. If no, business customers will stick with BlackBerry, etc.
Thankfully, I live in an environment where my e-mail is accessible via IMAP, so that shouldn’t be a problem. As long as I can sync contacts and calendar, I’ll be happy.
