I too have an mp3 player, and use it when I go on walks, etc. In my car when I listen to the radio, it is what it is. Sometimes the key things I listen for on FM are in between the commercials. Service Elements, such as Traffic, Breaking News, Breaking Weather reports, local things to do. My mp3 player is for my mp3's, my radio is for what I want out of radio.
