Some guy with too much time on his hands developed this painstakingly accurate menu system based on the Wii interface, coined “WiiOS.”

The menu system is a very faithful reproduction of the Wii menu system, and he’s got it all tied together with his Wii-mote to let him control some emulated console games on his PC.

I’m sure Nintendo won’t be thrilled by the blatant copyright infringement in his design, but maybe they’ll give him a break and just appreciate the fact that he’s just a really dedicated Wii fanboy.

I’d be very interested in seeing the sourcecode for his bluetooth wiimote interface. Mmm… sourcecode.

The guy who wrote it was talking about releasing a version, but now it sounds like he won’t:

It looks like it a VB application for the front end, but I it’s using GlovePIE for the wii-mote control driver:

Even if he did release a version, I don’t think he’s honestly going to try to compete with Nintendo on it. Also, he’s not really copying anything (with the possible exception of images, but I have a feeling he’s modified them or otherwise derived them).

I don’t know. I just wish we lived in a country where a guy can write his own software without worrying about someone else trying to sue.

    Should be fun.

I don’t know what wii os is. Is it a program on your computer on wich you can play real wii games like MySims and Mario Party 8?

    P.S. If my English isn’t correct, I’m sorry… =P
