I’m not sure if the Halo edition was released before or after the 360 Elite. AFAIK, Microsoft started making cooling improvements to all 360s produced after the 360 Elite came out. Models made in 2008 and on run on the Jasper board with a cooler running 65nm GPU and CPU. So your best bet is to buy a brand new 360 model and look for a JASPER board, and your chances of overheating and the RROD will be much lower.
