Do you have too many adapters plugged into in your power strip? This decidedly Flinstonian piece of office equipment eliminates the need for electricity by using hamster power.
As little hammy pedals his butt off, he generates his own shredded paper bedding. Fortunately, this isn’t a real product, rather it’s part of artist Tom Ballhatchet’s installation, planned for display next week in Milan, Italy.
Not feeling environmentally friendly? I suppose you could always defeat the purpose of this device by hooking up one of these USB powered hamster wheels.

This is a great concept as long as you only use newspaper. White paper is bleached and will hurt your hamster. In addition, the cage would be overwhelmed with paper and unless you used a hamster potty, you would be covering over, instead of removing the dirty area of the cage. Great concept, but I recommend not using this gadget.
Is it wrong that my first thought was “Corrigated Cardboard!!!” and my second was “How fat a hamster would you need to cut stainless steel?”
As a PETA member I am appalled that civilized people would consider enslaving Hamsters to shred their unwanted papers. What next? Shall we regress back to the days when we used donkey’s to grind our grain? It took thousands of years to free our asses of the daily grind – so let’s not go back to those days of animal slave labor (unless we get overrun by some damn dirty talking apes). LET MY HAMSTER GO!
