Only very simple tides like the east and west coast. For the gulf coast/Caribbean it's useless as a tide watch, but looks cool and seems very sturdy. I just got a cheap used Lodown for use here on the gulf coast. I hope it doesn't break! The problem with the Casio GLX5600 (I have one of those) is that it does not handle complex tides well. When I got back, I called Nixon and let them know what happened and they replaced it. I used that one for a year and a half and just today when I went surfing, water seeped in again and it stopped working. This is no doubt a great tide watch but I wish it lasted a little bit longer. I am now looking into getting a more durable watch like the Casio G Shock GLX5600. I hope that last more than a year and a half.
