ipsp: iphone interface for the sony psp

Those of you with Sony’s PSP portable gaming system can now install a menu system that looks remarkably similar to the one on Apple’s iPhone.

iPSP

The iPSP software installs onto a Memory Stick and provides ready access to your e-mail, photos, instant messaging, and other applications on the PSP.

The menu is a portal to a variety of web-based applications as well as a couple that run directly on the PSP, like the calculator and PSPTunes media player. There’s a bit more information on all the features here.

From the looks of that video clip, it’s not nearly as elegant as a real iPhone. Regardless, you better grab the download quickly. I’m sure Apple’s legal team won’t let this last long.

Looks like the iPSP download has disappeared from its original locations on the web. Either Apple’s legal team finally got in touch with it’s developers, or they went deep underground. Good luck with your search.

I was having problems with this yesterday. Put your memory card in you computer and make sure the path on your memory card is correct. I noticed that after the d/l the COMMON folder showed up twice. Actually click on the folders and see that the path is actually :/PSP/COMMON/ipsp/index.html. I hope that helps.

  16. jimmy says:

download the ipsp folder off a website fluidmarkup and then drag the folder into you psp folder, then common folder and leave it there. Then put ur memory stik back in the psp and go to web browser. Then type in the address entry file:/psp/common/ipsp/index.html
first make sure flash player is enabled and delete ur cache. if this doesn’t work ur psp doesn’t support ipsp for some reason!
