I bought this recently and have been using it on the streets of NYC. It’s effective at getting people’s attention and scaring the hell out of pedestrians who step in front of me (usually while texting) but it’s pretty unpleasant sounding. Sounds like a smoke alarm. Cheap and irritating. I don’t think I can use it for very long.

Phooey, I prefer the Air Zound horn. It works just like a marine air horn, but is charged with a bicycle pump – no batteries.

I saw that a normal car horn is about 100 decibels …. and this is 115 ”

If this is not meant to be sounded off within 50cm of anyone’s ear then the cyclist would have to wear earmuffs. But it definitely beats ringing a girly bell at a car (DRING DRING!)

OH my goodness – This is so fake!!! Horrible – no sound at all! I could barely hear it on the street 2 feet away from me! My byddy heard it and said there is no way I can get girls with that sound ( it’s like someone stepped on a cat! ) high pitch noise – not a horn noise! More like a mice squealing!!! DON”T BUY THIS CRAP!!!!! HORRIBLE!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! but its in HK so I AM SCREWED!!!

i had a horn that emitted 115 decibals, very similiar to this one. I liked it but I was going down this hill in a park,at the bottom there was a stop sign to the right where there was another road. I blasted this horn when I noticed a car ready to make a left turn in front of me. I blasted this thing from 300feet,200feet,100feet even 50 feet. the driver didn’t hear me.When I got eyen closer and the moron at that point startled stopped her car! as she was now in my path! and at 32miles an hour. I had nowhere else to go! I skidded frantickly barely missing her. as she started moving, I think my hand hit her car as I narrowly missed! I was furious! Should have heard me cussing!So for this reason and the fact that there are more moron drivers that make left turns in front of bicycles because they dont see them or they think they are doing 5mph. I would rather have a marine airhorn!
