Designer Kei Yamamoto created these lighting fixtures that look like giant LEDs. Made from acrylic, aluminum and a dozen LED light sources each, they’re each about 20-times the size of a normal light-emitting diode.

The fixtures’ clear acrylic shell and arrangement of LEDs create a beautiful visual effect on the wall above the lamps.

Yamamoto’s LED of LED lamps were one of the shortlisted entries in the Gwangju Biennale Foundation’s bright LED competition which recently wrapped up in Korea. The show featured works from over 3400 designers who showcased numerous truly exceptional LED-based lighting systems, design concepts and interactive works.
There’s no word on whether the artist intends of producing these for purchase.
