Windows Vista DVD Burn: Got 130 Years to Kill?
December 1st, 2007
Ah, the power of Windows Vista. Check out this recent screen capture of the progress dialog that appeared when an unsuspecting Vista user tried to burn 15 megabytes of files to a DVD RW drive.

So if I’m doing my math right, the disk will be completed in 2138, a little over 130 years from now. The good news is, that should be just in time for Vista SP2 to be released.

Lol it’s so true !!!
I’ve seen the same thing on several Vista systems. Everything is slow, bug-ridden, and just plain laggy. I think imma gonna go back to XP Pro, where it isn’t so crappy(but it’s still Windows).
Yeah Vista is really terrible and it is sad that they needed more than 5 years to make this disaster. It actually made me take a serious look at Linux and by the time this DVD gets burned I’ll probably already be using Linux full time
I’ve encountered this very same problem! Some customer called in tech support saying that it’s taking TOO long to burn just 4GB of data. I had him reinstall Vista.
Funny,.. I’ve burned several discs on Vista, and last I checked I didn’t get my copy of it in the late 1800s, nor am I over 100 years old.
But,.. since theres a few people who’ve experienced something similiar, it MUST be Vista’s fault.
I’ve just recently bought a new computer and I now have the Windows Vista and cd/dvd burner but I don’t know how to download a movie and burn it to a disc. So far that’s the only issue I have with my system.
I’ve got a system with Vista installed and my biggest beef is that I can’t use the disks I burn on my regular dvd player, I can only use them for playback on my computer. What a bummer!
I got another speedy(!) Vista over here:
