Take your sound on the road with these portable speakers from Japan’s Bird-Electron.

Bird Electron Edizon 0 Portable Speaker

The compact EZISON 0 speaker is packaged in a little brushed aluminum box that can go anywhere. Available in a variety of colors, each speaker comes attached to Italian leather strap that makes it easy to carry anywhere. Just plug in your media player and you’re ready to go.

Designed to operate without any external power, I’m doubtful they crank out too much volume, but you never have to worry about carrying batteries or an AC adapter either. They range in price from 6950 to 7380 Japanese Yen (about $69 to $73 USD) and can currently be found on the Bird-Electron online shop.

While I haven’t found a U.S. retailer for the EZISON 0 speakers, you might want to check with the guys over at Audiocubes, since they import a variety of other items from Bird-Electron.

That is awesome! I wonder how they sound? Probably not so good, given they are unpowered. I may have to get one just to get one.

Although they’re made from aluminum, I bet they sound like tin.

Looks like Audiocubes has started to carry these here in the states:

Price is a bit higher to cover import costs though.
