IPhone Runs Windows Vista (Kinda Sorta).

by

Here’s a fun iPhone hack you’ll either really love or really hate. VistaPerfection 2.0 is a complete re-skinning kit for Apple’s wonderphone that lets it masquerade as a Windows Vista machine.

iphone vista

While many of you will ask: why the heck would you want to go and do that? Dunno. Maybe Spec Works (the guy who made it) just wanted to prove it could be done.

iphone vista 2

The install comes complete with wallpapers, sliders, sound effects and over 90 Vista-themed icons for everything from the computer to the recycle bin, and all of the standard iPhone apps too. There’s even a simulated version of Vista’s Sidebar and familiar Start menu.

If you’re ready and willing to deface your glorious chrome and glass iPhone with Microsoft’s bloatware user interface, head on over to ModMyiFone for the full download and instructions. (Requires a Jailbroken iPhone, SSH access and SummerBoard).

    • ankur says:

well here is the point fellows .. it just makes the looks of iphone look better.. and can anybody tell me does the above mention method works or not. and are there any risks involved

  2. HJr says:

one question! Why??? its funny to see this, IE when it still uses Safari as browser, Recycle bin??what for??
i think this is just a waste of memory, same as Space..
Why will you get an Apple product if you dont even like it??
get one from Microsoft instead!! or wait! Microsoft doesn’t have the capabilities ??

  3. maxink says:

    waste of an iphone

  4. gs274 says:

HAHA, awesome…bringing some class to a borderline useless waste of cash. Well, at least compared to…say a blackberry…or treo…or smartphone.

  5. widefire says:

I think it looks very hot! The guy had some time in his hands! hahaha

  6. RandomNY says:

    Amazing job..

  7. JoeMazzia says:

Cause apple fanboy, why noy? Its for fun, even if its not practical the just being able to do it is the point.

  8. Steve Jobs says:

Lawl, Perfect use for a shitty product. Makes it less shitty! Epic Win for whoever made this!

  9. Brian says:

That just about made me ill. But, it is probably pretty close to have Microsoft will have in about ten years. If they are still in the computer business. I think Microsoft will be selling toys (Xbox, etc…) exclusively by then.

“Its for fun, even if its not practical the just being able to do it is the point.”

You windiots are used to doing useless crap in windows that it makes sense to put a trash can that serves no purpose.

And to the blackberry fanboy, I give your phone less than one year before it goes the way of the palm. I predict starting Q1 2009, RIM will be posting loses quarter after quarter.

  11. WhatWindows says:

Finally, the perfect phone. The iPhone doesn’t eveny have Excel. All it can do is read it. From a business view, the iPhone is just a thought in the road. Install MS Office, video recorder, copy/paste (MAC invention) and etc and you have a good phone/PDA. All the iPhone does is take low quallity pictures and plays some toons. So what.

    • Kodak says:

On a work point of view, the iphone is nothing else than an expensive toy. I can speak for both parts: had an HTC (excellent work tool), and now, i have the iphone. This device can’t even store documents from the office! I’ve realized that i bought an expense mp3 player…

  12. dereo says:

totaly contradictory to what people do by getting a mac product: running away from windows. But i do have to say, it looks pretty good.

  13. Jordan says:

it shouldnt matter watever the hell ppl are doing with THEIR phone i think it looks good, a nice mix between apple and microsoft

  14. John says:

Seriously, who cares either way. If this guy wants to skin is phone, good for him. For all those critizing solely based off it being an MS look alike skin, get over it. Not everyone dreams of conforming to your pretentious view points.

  15. nickols says:

I want to ask some questions and pls answer seriously:

1)How the HECK can an Apple Product(iPhone) can be compatible with something from Microsoft(Windows Vista?

2)Really,why do you waste an iPhone for something useless?

3)Can you give me that iPhone for 9,99$?

  16. Anthony says:

Doesn’t make any sense to do that….the native operating / skin is so much better – which is why some many WM users want the iPhone skin on their phones.

  17. vistaftw says:

    2 questions

    1
with the windows os installed can u still make calls, messages and do all the normal functions that a phone can do?

    and 2
if you decide you dont like it or it dosnt suit your needs can you restore it back to a mac os?

  18. Mario says:

to vistaftw, the windows is just a skin. that means that they just changed the way it looks but not the phone it self. ex. its show IE but oif you click it it wil still open safari. so yes you can still use all the phone functions and yes you can change it back

  19. Nathan says:

How do I change it when I touch the link it takes me to google home page

  20. Nathan says:

    Anyone have an answer?

  21. Nathan says:

Wait does it work on an iPod touch??

  22. Joseph says:

Yes nathan, it works on the itouch

  23. Nathan says:

Ok. But when I click on the link it takes me to google homepage

  24. Nathan says:

Anyone what do I type in

  25. Nathan says:

Does anyone know what to type in at google?

  26. Taylor says:

you guys are stupid. its not the windows os on the iphone, it’s just a theme. it still does all the same things as an iphone it just looks different. i have the same exact theme on my ipod touch its quite nice. you have to have a jailbroken ipod/iphone to do that.

  27. @Badshah... says:

Amazing time pass,,,,,Don,t Make us full,,,,,
just show us how to install and run xp/vista on iphone

  28. georgios says:

hallo y gife my i phone tool thanks

  29. prenfic says:

    such a rubbish ones
    it waste many memory!!!

this theme did’t not background and multi-task
it is just a theme make your phone more beautiful (but i feel it is such ugly, apple’s original ones more beautiful)

  30. Alvin says:
