steampunk usb memory: flash, ah ah.

This intricate retro sci-fi USB memory drive comes to us courtesy of an enterprising modder over in Russia.

Meticulously crafted from hand-polished brass and copper, the USB drive reminds me of something out of the art deco neo-future of Buck Rogers - or perhaps more apropos - Flash Gordon.

This thing is just plain gorgeous. How could you possibly go back to one of those cheap plastic flash drive after looking at this masterwork?

If you don’t mind reading a little Russian, you can see how it was done by checking out the full work log over on the Modding.ru forums.

Now that you mention, it does look like a beer tank.

Nice one~! Certainly looks like a durable USB flash drive that can withstand some heat!
Anyway, this looks like a nice and professional piece of work and hopefully we’ll some more such USB flash drives out there in future.

No one would ever leave a gear out in the open like that, lets dust in and screws up all the memory mechanics.
