I just love the industrial design of this compact portable sound dock for the iPod. The einö Portable Speaker System is small enough to fit in your purse or backpack, so it’s the perfect companion for traveling with your media player.

Measuring in at about 7.7″ (w) x 4.2″ (h) x 1.3″ (d), the whole system fits inside of a convenient matching carrying case that’s just a hair bigger than a large wallet.

Sound is output to a pair of drivers at 1.4 watts per channel via a Class D stereo amp, and the speakers claim to pump out enhanced low frequencies thanks to something called “Maxx BassR” technology.

In addition to the gorgeous red design shown above, the einö is available in blue, white and black
too.

As is the case with many cool things, the einö currently is only for sale in Japan. If you’re willing to try your luck with some Japanese translation and paying in Yen, you can pick one up on sale from FLIPClick for ¥5980 (appx. $56 USD).

Thanks for posting this! I ordered it on Tuesday, and it’s just arrived. The design is very slick in person too, although getting the input line nicely hidden behind the panel involves a bit of fiddling and taking the panel off. Sound is pretty good, definitely worth more than 6000 yen.
