I live in an apartment building, and I don't have annoying neighbors - at all - but I have the worst problem with falling asleep and then can't wake up - at all. Or if I do, I fall sound asleep again half an hour later. Have been late for work so many times in the last ten years. I've tried a billion different tricks, but am going to have to try to give this one a try. Thanks for the reviews.

I am an ex OTR Truck Driver and I used one of these Meanies and I sat straight up from a dead sleep. It definantly lives up to its name. If your a hard sleeper this is the alarm clock you want to have. Plus if you have annoying neighbors this will help you get back at them hahaha.

I have one of these, I work in the marine industry and so I often have to sleep in a noisy work environment, I'd say the sound range in my quarters was close to a vacuum because of engine noise and vibration, and I'd say these things are great, they really are loud. If you absolutely must be up at a certain time and plan to go drinking the night before or have the same situation with noise where you sleep and use earplugs, this little gadget is a life saver. Also you can buy these in truck stops around the U.S. for around the $20-$30 range (Love's Travel Center is where I got mine, any truck stop with the novelties and electronics in them would probably have them)
