		<description>I&#039;m thinking the reason that the thumb on the NES controller is holding left is because sometimes after holding B in order to run Mario would &quot;overjump&quot; and on those levels where hurdling too far would mean certain death, holding the d-pad in the opposite direction could facilitate for a decrease in momentum as well a mid-air change of direction. This method would be best suited to insure that you land on a levitating block or perhaps a pipe in between a pair of crevasses.</description>
