Skiing may be fun, but you’ve got to go to all that trouble of wrapping yourself up like a sausage and then trudge around in snow and cold air, and that’s without considering the risk of those many broken limbs. Why go to all that effort if you can recreate the experience in the comfort of your living room? The hot cocoa is a lot closer there, too.

For a mere $2300, you too can avoid all the pitfalls (literal and not) of the slopes by installing a ski simulator in your home. That’s a pretty hefty price tag, however, particularly when you can buy something like the less-realistic We Ski, which utilizes the Wii’s Balance Board to simulate, well, skiing. But then again, $2300 would go a long way toward paying for a real skiing trip.
