knitted gas mask will keep you safe from imaginary diseases

Knitter/Yes Woman teriyakimoto’s friend wanted a “knitted gas mask + hat to wear for winter bike trips to work”. I think it’s safe to say that this friend has quite specific needs. Teriyakimoto obliged, braving the depths of absurdity and the fact that she had no pattern to work with, and returned from her knitting basement with her awesome creation, which was already attached to her friend’s head.

Since she had no pattern, teriyakimoto had to measure her friend’s face to ensure that the mask and hat would fit snugly; they won’t save him from a biochemical attack, but they could at least keep his face warm.

The mask is attached to the hat with velcro (the black stripes on top) so he can easily remove it if he runs into bullies, or if he observes that he can’t breathe well while wearing the mask.
