for grumpy, non-morning people: mr. bump alarm clock turns off when thrown against wall

The Mr. Bump alarm clock is very weird but also very appropriate: when its alarm goes off, you can turn it off by hurling it against a wall, or against any hard surface I guess. It’s a gadget that risks being destroyed in order to function, and yet it’s also a gadget that knows its users’ probable response.

Poor guy; he’s already expecting to be hurt. Some of you may recognize Mr. Bump, the accident-prone character from Roger Hargreaves’ Mr. Men series of children’s books way back in the 70’s. I am proud to say that I do not recognize him, which means I am not that old. Finally, something that’s too retro for me to know.

Wait. If you think about it, any alarm clock will stop alarming if you throw it against a wall hard enough. Hmmm.
