usb retro vacuum cleaner: old gadgets don’t die, they just get miniaturized

That’s the story of gadgets right there. They start out big and clunky, but pretty soon they’ll be replaced with better and smaller versions of themselves. I still remember the early “mobile” phones, which were mobile only in the theoretical sense of the word. Those brick phones were gigantic and heavy. Same with portable audio players. And now we have miniaturized vacuum cleaners. But I’m not talking about the Roomba.

This vacuum cleaner was able to strike a compromise with the gadget god and got reincarnated with its looks still intact, albeit in a much smaller package. Yes, this is a functional, USB-powered vacuum cleaner. It’s only 8-in tall, so it might take you the whole day if you use it to clean the carpet. But its good enough for cleaning your keyboard and maybe even your whole desk, tanks to its 45-inch reach.

Of course you have to love that retro look. You can get one of these at Gadgetshop for £8 (approx. $13 USD).

LOL, I think this would be a great gag gift if your gf asks for a vacuum cleaner.
I learned a lot from reading this blog post. I think the gag gift option is a good idea, but it is also a very useable item in it’s own right. My computer area constantly needs cleaning so I will get one. Great idea.
cool! i want one!
