megaman vs. metroid: please make this official nintendo!

If I was asked what video game head-to-head I’d like to see, I’d probably say Sam Fisher against Solid Snake. Or all of the characters in Final Fantasy, villains included, against all the Suikoden characters. Mmmmm want. But I didn’t think of this match-up, one that certainly makes sense, although I’m not a fan of either series. The folks over at retro gaming site 8-bit.com are proud to present: Megaman vs. Samus Aran.

Okay so it’s really Megaman vs. Metroid, but we all know who the champion of Metroid is. Made with SNES-era graphics, the game plops the Blue Bomber down into the world of Metroid, presumably with Samus as the final boss, in order to settle once and for all which hero is better at using a literal hand cannon.

I say presumably because, well, I wasn’t able to finish the game, what with our deadlines and all. Blogging is hard work you know.  So why don’t you head on to 8-bit.com right now and beat the game, so you can tell me how it ends. And then tell me how to finish it as well.
