Roll Up Your Own Handbag of Holding
July 31st, 2009
Dice are important for gamers of all types, not just fans of tabletop RPGs, so why not make a dicebag to carry your dice in? It sounds like something from Pimp My Ride, but really, it’s just a nifty project you can undertake yourself.

Neat, huh? There are step-by-step instructions, but you might be better off buying a kit to make your bag. Listen, you may be King Crafter of Craftonia, but this bag looks like some serious business, even with the kit. Do you really want to cut out all these pieces on your own?

No, I didn’t think so. Don’t think the kit makes things particularly easy, either. It doesn’t look so hard in the beginning:

But then it starts to look more like a puzzle game than a craft project.

That may be half the fun, though. I wouldn’t know–I’m a shopper, not a maker.

There’s a modular knitting technique that’d be great for this . . . . crocheter’s too of course can triangulate as well, but I’m more up on the knitting. This is perfect for the modular knitted triangles . . . . . . and in the right kind of variegated yarn, it’ll look like the triangles graduate in color concentrating inwards towards their centers or outwards therefrom, depending on your point of view, and the shades involved, etc.
If I make one in this manner, I’ll let you know, send you a link to a post w/pics, etc.!
Definitely let us know! I can’t even imagine knitting something like that.
