I think the reason for the poor sales was the fact that people were put off by ZOE 1. ZOE 2 proved itself to be a great game and people seem to really want another sequel. I would much rather Kojima work on ZOE 3 then MGS Peace Walker (which is just a PSP game anyway). Also, how about some advertisement this time around. I don’t remember seeing any ads for ZOE 2, I just walk into a game store one day and found it hiding on the bottom self.

i think this is still something we won’t see for awhile. Games like this take a whole lot of development (they are essentially starting the product from scratch – no way they can use the mgs engine for the ‘lightning paced robot action’). This is just them saying publicly sometime in the future it’ll happen, but not anytime soon. The best prediction, factoring in production, publication, and designing will be 3+ years, if even that. So don’t get your hopes too high

Which is why I have this nagging fear that Kojima will be so busy that ZOE 3 will end up on the PS4.

Maybe Konami should have priced ZOE 2 less than $69.99 back when it was new. That was $10 more than the vast majority of high profile games. It would have been nice if they’d put it out as a Greatest Hits title, too, but they never did. It’s one of my favorite PS2 games, so I’m definitely hoping for a sequel, but from what I understand the game isn’t actually in development yet. It’s just something they’d like to do, eventually.
