Atlus Late to Catch Up on Memes, Sends Press Release With Lolcats in It
January 7th, 2010
In terms of funny video game company correspondence, I don’t think it gets better than Valve’s multi-purpose mail-outs. Now Atlus is also trying to spice up their press releases, as shown by this e-mail that Aeropause‘s Adam Englebright received:

The email’s continued below, but I think you get why I said that they’re trying.

These guys made (no they did not! thanks Anna!) published Disgaea for god’s sake! That’s got to be one of the funniest and weirdest RPGs ever made, and all they can come up with is this? It’s a shame Atlus’ PR department chose cats over a bunch of insane demons (and penguins). Meh. I guess it’s better than a vanilla message. Here’s the official Atlus walkthrough, in case you are indeed confoozed (see how annoying that was?) by Demon’s Souls’ Soul Tendencies feature:
What’s the name of the Power Rangers guys in Disgaea again? They were funny. And Mid-Boss! So much wasted potential.

Square Enix and Koei made Disgaea, not Atlus.
We both got it wrong
. Atlus was the publisher, not the developer. BUT Squeenix and Koei didn’t make Disgaea either. NIS is responsible for that insane TRPG.
