Acer G7750-A64 Predator Pc Will Devour Your Savings

The latest iteration of Acer’s Predator gaming PC still has its trademark Decepticon look, but it’s dominant black makes it a bit more menacing than its predominantly orange predecessors.

The G7750-A64 is powered by an Intel Core i7-960 3.20GHz processor, 6 GB DDR3 RAM (3 slots with 2GB RAM each, max. 12 GB), and two Nvidia GTX260 graphics cards. It will go Usain Bolt on Crysis. It’s  also equipped with a 1TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive, a Blu-ray drive, a DVD Super Multi drive, what seems like a billion-in-one card reader, 6 USB ports, 2 Ethernet ports, 2 ESATA ports, 5(?!) audio out ports, 4 DVI-I ports, 4 3.5″ hard drive bays, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Although the Predator doesn’t come with a monitor, it does come with a sweet G15 keyboard & G9 mouse combo. The G7750-A64 will be available in Japan next month and is priced at ¥289,800 ($3,170 USD). According to an Acer outsider, the Predator was initially priced at $70, but the addition of 5 audio out ports jacked up the production costs.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I think the 5 audio outputs are just the 5 channels if you want to output analog surround :frownyface

I bet it’s the 60-day trial of McAfee Internet Security that made it so expensive.

I could see that devices in the shop. The case looks good, but feels cheap. When opening the front it leaves the impression that it will break soon.

  3. vluhd says:

wow, that seems not good at all.
they went with an nvidia card…really
its worth nowhere near 3k. you could build a much better rig for 1.5, no sweat.
    go ask /g/

  4. Canes says:

There’s a sucker born every minute, and they’ll find a sucker to buy this heap. Not even like they’re top of the line nVidia cards at that, but at that price point I’d want two 5870’s in crossfire, everything water cooled, and the cpu humming along at well over 4ghz.

  5. Aditya says:

It is great but lacks NVIDIA’s latest GTX 480/470 SLI which may not be compatible becoz of 750 watt PSU(their SLI requires atlest 950 watt PSU)

  6. edin says:

i have 1 at my home.
