Wearable Robot Follows Your Every Move From Afar
February 9th, 2010
I’ve always thought that robots were meant to aid humans by helping them do some of their work. Now, it seems like the Japanese have come up with a robot that you can wear.

The Wearable Robot was developed by the Tsumaki Telerobotics Laboratory at Yamagata University. It can sit on your friend’s shoulder to give you a sort of physical presence during a remote teleconference. It does so by looking where you look, kind of like that awesome Predator laser.
Anything that the robot sees will be transmitted to the wearer thanks to some handy goggles. Seems sort of like Avatar version 0.1.

Nice, so now you just have to find a friend that attends every class while you stay home in bed all day.
