Phonebook App Uses iPhone to Create Interactive Picture Book
June 18th, 2010
Japanese mobile content specialists Mobile Art Lab are selling a unique product. It’s a children’s book entitled Popo and Momo RIDE! RIDE!, but it’s actually a combination of two components, one analog and one digital. It has a book-like part that serves both as the frame and as receptacle for an iPhone or iPod Touch where the app is opened. The interesting part about this book is that the app is free. The book part – the one that is for sale – does add atmosphere and charm, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the money.

Here’s the combo in action:
Dawwwwww. Okay yes, the book is worth it. It makes the setup much more charming and engaging. I’m not sure if it’s available outside of Japan though, but you can try: Amazon Japan is selling the book part for ¥2,980 (approx. $33 USD). As I said, you can download the app for free at the App Store (link opens iTunes).

I am currently staying in Botswana in Southern Africa. I have designed what I believe is a phone book that can be used by children, adults with learning disability. This product i believe can work out very well and since you are into the same prooducts I would like to sell it to you for a very once off purchase price so that you can promote and sell it as your product. Reply if interested.
