A dude named foldsfive decided to recreate the entire original Star Wars trilogy in MS Paint, then converted to animated GIFs. He released his take Star Wars: A New Hope last month. This month, it’s The Empire Strikes Back‘s turn.

Foldsfive is also known as David Court and created the first one a few years ago for a site that couldn’t handle any images bigger than 250kb. It was all done from memory, so there are some slight errors. But all in all, it’s pretty amazing.

When he finished the original, he managed to make enough money for a deposit on his house and get onto Lucasfilm’s Christmas card list. It’s kind of amazing that something old school like this can still entertain us.

Only problem with the whole animated GIF thing is that you can’t rewind or hit pause.
