Upenn Pr2 Robot is the Loneliest Little One-Man (or One-Robot) Band
August 21st, 2010
I’m a sucker for robots playing musical instruments. But despite the technical skill it took for the team to get a PR2 robot programmed to play both keyboard and drums at the same time, he just seems a little lonely up there on the stage without some other robot companions.

In this video clip, UPenn’s PR2 reads from a MIDI file, and plays his own “special” versions of U2′s With or Without You and Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles.
I think if he were a contestant on America’s Got Talent, he’d probably get X’ed off the stage by the judges. More details on the PR2 one-man band can be found over at Google Code.

Hi Technabob, Hope you’re ok? I was wondering if you might be able to help me please? I’m writing my dissertation on technology blogging and branded networking opportunities with a big focus on Nintendo’s social media.
It’d be absolutely amazing if I get your opinion on a couple of key points I’m working on. It would really add credibility to my content and might steer me in the right direction. Would you mind if I emailed you a couple of questions at all?
Thanks for reading and really hope to hear from you,
Tom.
Hit me up with a note at tips@technabob.com, and I’ll see if I can help.
