Galileo was Wrong, Stop the Press, Don’T Bother Going to School
September 13th, 2010
…because according to Robert Sungenis and Robert Bennett, the Church was right – the Earth is the center of the universe. Ho.ly. Crap. In what I still suspect is either a practical joke or an article by The Onion – in other words a practical joke – starting this year there will be an annual Catholic conference on Geocentrism.

The conference charges $50 (USD) per person. Are you kidding me? I’m not going to pay $50 just to listen to some – wait, the $50 includes a free lunch. Hmmm. I think I’ll pass for now, maybe I’ll just get a GWW license plate frame. Because I too, believe that Galileo Was Wrong. Clearly, our cat is the center of the universe. And it wants food now. I have to go.

I thought the Hilton Garden Inn, in South Bend, Indiana was the center of said universe.
Of course it is the center of the universe, what kind of idiot would think it isn’t. It’s also on top of huge turtles and it’s turtles all the way to the infinite. Todays people is very ignorant. They don’t know like that the sun is made of joy and happiness from people. Some idiots that don’t know anything say its made of hydrogen, but these people are obviously not to be trusted since they probably don’t read the bible too much. I always tell my little redenck kids “don’t believe anything those teachers say, everything is just horseshit”
ha Evolution… Yeah right. What kind of stupid fella is going to believe that monkeys can grow human fingers. And then he’s going to grow a nose. And finally walk straight. PEOPLE IS JUST PLAIN STUPID
This assertions made in this campaign are ludicrous. The Catholic Church has done it again. I feel they have more important issues at hand: namely their unmentionable plague of child abuse I dare say sin of it’s cover-up, to worry about whether or not the Earth is square. Possibly they’ll get the idea when they take notice of the empty pews. It’s time the Catholic Church had the big re-think and I’ll be more than happy to light a bush in the process if it makes them feel all holy. This is shameful. The dark ages have passed.
These guys have no standing in the Catholic Church. The Church even made them take the name “Catholic” off their website.

Their out doing this on their own. So, you’ll have to go back to your other material if you want to beat up on the Catholic Church.
Agreed. I don’t think the church has anything to do with these crackpots. They’re just “borrowing” the name as a cover for their idiocy.

Very nice. Love your Twitter feed, guys.
In case anyone was wondering, it actually is pretty hard to conclusively prove the geocentric model was wrong. To really do that, we’re going to have to get an infrared image of the solar system from a lightyear or so away from it.
Be that as it may, geocentrism’s defenders do have to stretch things a bit for the old model to work. But how many of you critics of them are familiar with the amount of stretching required to save Kepler’s and Newton’s model…?
They don’t elaborate much on those in the standard textbooks.
