Scosche Sneakpeek 2 Makes It Easy to Hook an iPad or iPhone to Your Tv

There are a lot of folks out there who have an iPad or iPhone that  like to stream content with from various sources like YouTube, Netflix, their video camera or their media library. The catch is that it can be a hassle getting that video onto a larger screen for viewing. You can use a dock that has TV outputs, but those tend to take up a lot of space and if your entertainment center is as crowded as mine that can be an issue.

Scosche has unveiled a new cable today that is sort of like a docking station minus the dock part. The thing is called the sneakPEEK II, it has a normal Apple docking connector on one end, and the other end has both composite and component inputs. That lets you choose whatever input works best for your situation, and allows the thing to work on newer HD sets and older ones alike.

The cool part is that the sneakPEEK II will also allow you to charge the Apple device while you playback the video thanks to an integrated micro USB connector and AC adapter. Scosche points out that the cable is compatible with Netflix right out of the box. You can order yours up for some big screen streaming action for $59.99(USD). If it works with Hulu Plus on the iPad, it would be perfect for me.

I love this cable but for the life of me I can’t get my LCD tv to recognize any signal coming from my iPhone, I tried both the component and composite. Now I used the cable on my iPad on regular non-flat screen (oldie but still sorta goodie) and I got it to recognize the signal. I haven’t tried to use the cable with the iPad through the LCD. Am I doing something wrong? I was trying to listen to an audiobook via the iPod app through the tv and thats when I came across the problem but I got ahold of a vintage-style stereo with audio hookups (though it was labeled audio out for additional speakers I guess) and believe it or not it worked, I had to turn on the phono to hear the audio but it worked none the less. Help! Thank gawd for Scosche being invented I love their stuff!
