Hair Washing ‘Bot Won’T Rip Your Head Off, Will It?

If there’s one thing that I wouldn’t want a robot to do, it’s to wash my hair before getting a haircut. But that didn’t stop Panasonic [JP] from making a hair washing robot, that hopefully won’t rip your head off.
The design is based on the robot hands that seem to be lying all over the place over at Panasonic’s Japanese headquarters. This robot will wash your head and massage it. It can even dry your hair and give neck massages.
The system uses 3D scanning to track the shape of a customer’s head, so that there are no mishaps. Once again, I’d rather have a human do this, but if humans are in short supply, I guess that this ‘bot will do.
