Inflatable Photo Studio Lets Photogs Shoot Indoors When Outdoors

When I was a kid, my brother and I would make tents out of a sheet and a box fan when our parents wouldn’t let us get out a real tent. All you had to do was put the sheet over the fan and you ended up with a ready-made inflatable tent. A photographer has come up with a similar design for pro shooters that need a place to work when they are in the field.

The contraption is called the Inflatable Photo Studio and it is a big black sack with a zipper door and one of those blowers from the bounce house we have all been in before. The thing is constructed from 6-10mm thick black plastic welded together at the seams with special machines. The black material blocks out light and lets the user cool or heat the interior.

The entire thing folds into a 2′ x 2′ x 4′ box and weighs just 40 pounds. There are entrances on either side and the fan that keeps the IPS blown up needs to flow at least 2250 cubic feet of air per minute. You can’t cook inside the thing or put hot lights near the sides. Unfortunately, if it were to collapse, you might suffocate.
