NZXT Bunker USB Locking Device Keeps Geek Thieves at Bay

January 11th, 2011 by: Shane McGlaun

I have never been one to frequent LAN parties, but I once went to Quakecon and there were several people there that had some of their peripherals stolen while they were sleeping or getting food. NZXT has a new accessory for your computer that will prevent your mouse, keyboard, and headphones from being stolen.

The device is called the Bunker and it mounts inside a vacant 5.25-inch drive bay and adds four more USB ports to your machine. The front panel of the Bunker closes and has a lock. When closed the USB cables can’t be unplugged or removed. The front door of the Bunker locks with a round key like a vending machine.

A thief could just cut the cables, but then they couldn’t use them either. I could also see this thing being useful in an office for computers that are in public areas. Pricing and availability are unknown.
