Scosche goBAT II Portable Battery Charger Juices USB Gadgets on the Go

I really like my iPhone, and the iPhone 4 certainly has better life than the iPhone 3GS did, but there are still times where I need more run time. Scosche has announced a new portable battery pack called the goBAT II that is now shipping for about $90 (USD).
The goBAT II will charge any gadget that uses a USB port, including the iPhone and the iPad. The charger has a pair of USB ports with one 1-amp port and a 2.1 amp port for the iPad and other gear, so you can charge multiple devices at the same time. The battery inside the sleek chassis is a 5000mAh unit.
That’s enough to fully recharge the iPhone 4 2.6 times from a full goBAT II battery, and the iPad can get 55% recharged with a single battery. The goBAT II requires you to bring your own charge cables though.

Is this instead of carrying around an extra battery? I have a couple of extra batteries for my Samsung Captivate… cost me $5 each…I can just flip a new one in and then I don’t have to wait for it to recharge…
