Portal Mirrors: Don’t Walk Into These Unless You Want 14 Years Bad Luck

Redditor Corttana and her husband made these mirrors for their Portal-themed basement. They’ll take you to where you’re already at. They achieved the vortexy Portal outlines simply by looping up appropriately-colored rope lights at the back of each mirror.

Corttana really should go try Redditor brownmandm’s suggestion – use angled mirrors so that when you look at one mirror, your reflection comes out on the other mirror. Here’s an even better idea: just hire identical twins to stand in front of the mirrors whenever you have visitors.

With a name like Corttana, I’m surprised she doesn’t have a giant Halo in her basement.
What mirrors are those? like do you remember the brand of where you got them…..cheap would be nice.

Or you could make each mirror actually be a screen with an imbedded camera where the image it sees is displayed on the other screen. So to look at yourself in the “mirror,” you’d have to stand in front of the other mirror.
