I am not a huge fan of Bluetooth headsets because I think wearing them outside of a car when you must have both hands free makes you look like a massive douche. If you are just walking in the mall wearing one, talking into thin-air, I think you deserve a kick in the scrotum. That said, you need a new Bluetooth headset for approved use in a car, Bluetrek has a new one that looks really cool called the Carbon.

The cool thing about the Bluetrek Carbon is that the mic boom is made from carbon fiber. When you say carbon fiber, most folks will think expensive right away, but the Carbon is right under $70 (USD) though so it’s pretty reasonably priced. The Carbon also fits snugly with no ear loop needed.

The carbon fiber helps the headset be lightweight, at just 5.9g. It has a mechanical on/off switch and can connect to two mobile phones at one time. It will also show the battery life indicator for its batteries on the screen of your iPhone. You can order the Bluetrek Carbon here.

  1. Here is a similar story

The CARBON Bluetooth 3.0 headset that made its way over to the FCC last week has now been officially unveiled by Bluetrek. It is the world’s first Bluetooth headset made of carbon fiber – giving it super strength and balanced weight. It solves the problems with Bluetooth headsets being too heavy and unable to balance in users’ ears. The CARBON also has Noise Lock noise cancellation, wind and echo cancellation technology to make sure that the other party will have no problem hearing your voice whether you’re in or outdoors. With a talk time of up to 4.5 hours and a standby time of 5 days, it should be more than enough for most folks. Bluetooth 3.0 also ensures it is supported by the latest phones. The Bluetrek CARBON is available now for $69.99.
