FlashHarp USB Harmonica: Hootie and the BlowFlash

by Shane McGlaun
Advertisement

I had a couple harmonicas as a kid. I liked them because all you needed to do to annoy the hell out of the parents was blow on one for like 30 seconds. I hated it because blowing on the harmonica was all I could ever do. I could never actually play a tune on the thing. If you like the harmonica and want some digital lessons and a strange flash drive the FlashHarp is for you.

The FlashHarp is a real, working harmonica that has a USB flash drive grafted into it for storing data and transporting your files just like any other flash drive will do. As an added bonus, the FlashHarp comes with video lessons already loaded on it to help you learn to play the harmonica.

The base model FlashHarp has 2GB of storage inside, and it also comes in 4GB and 8GB models. It comes with a plastic cap for protecting the USB connector as well. Prices range from about $50 to $85 over at BackyardBrand’s Etsy shop, depending on the model, and for a few more dollars, you can have yours personalized too.
