Star Wars Vegetable Carvings: Just What the Jedi Ordered
August 11th, 2011
Sushi chef Okitsugu Kado is an avid practitioner of Mukimono – carving fruit and vegetables into attractive shapes for use as decorative garnishing. He’s also a Star Wars fan and is a member of a Japanese Star Wars fan club. Combine the two and what do you get? Edible Jedi and Sith.

Awesome detail on Darth Vader’s chest. Chef Kado typically uses carrots, white radish, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and sometimes a bit of food coloring to create his geeky garnishing.
Was Darth Sidious using Force Lightning or Force Webbing? Check out Chef Kado’s blog to see more of his work. He has other geeky vegetable carvings, including Gundam and Pokémon.
