Nintendo Launches Misty Pink 3DS, All 3 Dimensions Now Available for the Ladies
September 13th, 2011
These game companies never come up with any new ideas on how to sell things to the fairer sex. It’s always the same. Offer the device up in pastels, maybe put some floral designs on it, name the colors like you would name lipsticks and always offer a pink version first.

And so, in order to get that girl money that they feel would typically go toward make-up and Barbie dolls, Nintendo plans to launch a new Misty Pink 3DS. Nintendo’s president, Satoru Iwata, says that the ratio of female 3DS users currently using the Nintendo 3DS gaming console in Japan is far below 50%, while this number is around 50% for the Nintendo Wii and still higher for the Nintendo DS.

The new Misty Pink 3DS will hit Japan on October 15th for 15,000 Yen (~$195 USD). No word on when American girls can get their painted nails on this pink 3DS.
Nintendo, if you want more sales, make better, more intelligent games. Once you do that, both sexes will buy your products in droves.

I honestly don’t care if it’s an uncreative, sexist reason to release a pink console. I just want to know when it’s coming to the US so I can get my hands on it. Heh.
me too! I like pink.
