Diesel DZ7164 Watch: Chunky Digital Time
May 14th, 2012
Have you gotten tired of your old watch, or are you actually looking for one to augment your smartphone as your default time-telling device? Check out the DZ7164 from Diesel’s Youngblood line. It’s pretty beefy, and it’s got a cool digital display.
The DZ7164 comes in all black, with a silicone band for comfort. The face of this watch is quite large, but that’s good in my book since I like big watches, especially ones with digital displays. The dot-matrix LED display reminds me of the Seiko Final Fantasy watch that they made a couple of years ago or the Spoon S.A.M.
It costs around $89 over on Amazon and is also available in white, blue, silver and a couple of other colors. If you like shiny things, the SBA (DZ7092), sells for $170 and offers a stainless steel case and mirrored display.

I like the rebirth of LED’s in watches so I think this watch is rather cool. That screen sticks out way to much though. In spite of the tough name, the bezel would get scratched up in an instant. Not very practical like my casio atomic solar G-Shock that is less bulky, has a recessed protected bezel, is always right, and doesn’t need batteries. If it had LED’s it would be perfect. Still, for this watch there is that sultry glow of the red LED’s, pure pleasure. :-)
