Assassin’s Creed Hidden Blade Gauntlet Replica Can Be Yours for a Brotherly Price

by Lambert Varias

You can easily find instructions to make your own Assassin’s Creed-style hidden blade, but if you don’t have the skills to put one together, check out this life-sized replica by prop maker NECA. It’s not made from steel, but I think we can all agree that that’s a plus.

assassins creed hidden blade gauntlet neca

The replica is based on the armored vambrace worn by the assassin so nice you played as him thrice Ezio Auditore in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. It’s made of PVC and ABS plastic, has buckle and velcro straps and a scary effective spring loaded mechanism that pops the blade out quite quickly.

Yikes. Even if it has a safety lock I’d be more comfortable if the blade was on the upper part of the gauntlet, Wolvie style. You can pre-order the replica from GameStop – where assassins shop and trade-in second hand weapons – for only $40 (USD). Reckless play will cost you a lot more than that.

Why must it be activated by the button? It should be activated by tilting your hand up.

    • Maybe NECA was afraid people would accidentally set it off. :)

      • Matt Darga says:

Besides, how would you get it to activate by tilting your hand?

        • Black ICE says:

There are already blades built by people, which can be activated by tilting your hand. The most easiest way is to have a ring on your finger, where a rope is attached to it, which is activating the blade.

          • jim digity says:

Clever idea with the ring I have been wandering how it came out without having to push or slide anything since the first game came out and had just put it down to the game developers wanting it to look cooler without it actually being possible IRL. one question though, it would have to lock into place if you used a ring on a string, so how would u make it retract in a similar sleek style without a push button?

          • mystery man says:

the ring can also retract the blade by having one of those cog’s were you pull a string on it once and some thing come’s out, than pull it again it retracts :) just a random idea i had 4 that to work and i asked if there was a cog like that and he said yes sooooooooooo ;) let’s wait and see if someone make’s a vid with the same kinda working cog type thing ;D

  3. Omni says:

Meh, the button is stupid and defeats the whole purpose. Make a TRUE hidden blade and I would buy it.
