Telephone Art Installation Has Snarky Robot Operator, No Supervisor

by Lambert Varias

Charles Seeholzer recently shared a funny art installation that he made back in 2012. [Insert Customer Feedback Here] is a modified telephone that rings periodically. When you pick up, an automated voice prompt will guide you through a series of questions, asking for your feedback about an unnamed service. The catch? The operator can get irritated with your responses and turn a boring call into a bad Choose Your Own Adventure audiobook.

Hack A Day summed up [Insert Customer Feedback Here] best: “In fact, if GLaDOS and The Stanley Parable had offspring, this would surely be it.”¬†Anyone who has ever sat on hold waiting for customer service will appreciate the humor in this:

Just you wait, [Insert Business Name Here]! We’ll get you back on Yelp. Dial up a¬†browser and head to Charles’ website for more on his project.
