Beach Vault Keeps Your Stuff Safe, Under the Sand

by Hazel Chua

Most people head out to the beach to sunbathe, swim, and simply relax in the hot summer sun. Unfortunately, all good vibes disappear the moment they discover that someone swiped their phone or tablet or wallet when they weren’t looking. At the same time, it’s no fun at all if you have to guard your beach bag like there’s no tomorrow the entire time you’re at the beach.

The solution? The Beach Vault.

Think of the Vault as a giant, cylindrical plastic container with an exterior that resembles a screw. It’s large enough to fit most tablets, your phone, wallet, and keys, among other things. It comes with a specialized beach towel (which has a hole in the middle so you can access the Vault) and inflatable cushion pillow (so you can relax in comfort.)

What you’re supposed to do is basically fill the Vault with stuff and push it into the sand by rotating it, as you would a screw. Once it’s sufficiently buried, lay the towel over it (with the hole right over it), cover with the pillow, and lay on top of it.

No one will be able to get to your stuff and you can rest easy, knowing your valuables are buried in the sand beneath you.

The Beach Vault is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where a pledge of $35(USD) will get you one of your very own.
