Apollo Lunar Lander and Mars Rover Metal Models are Awesome

Are you into astronomy and the U.S. space program? Looking for a fun afternoon project? Look no further than these miniature metal models from Metal Earth. They come in a variety of designs, but my favorites are the Apollo Lander and Mars Rover shown here.

These models are made from die-cut sheets of steel, and require quite a bit of patience to assemble. I should know, I built one of the Millennium Falcon steel models a while back and it was a challenge. Regardless, the end result is pretty awesome, plus the models are really inexpensive.

The Lunar Lander measures about 2″(W) x 2″(L) x 4″(H), goes for about $13(USD), while the Mars Rover measures about 3″(W) x 3″(L) x 4″(H), and sells for about $10. There’s also a Space Shuttle model, but it’s not nearly as intricate as these ones.
