There’s no question that GoPro dominates the action camera market, offering outstanding image quality, durability, and versatility. Now, the company is launching a new camera that’s substantially smaller than its others. The new GoPro HERO4 Session is roughly half the size and 40% lighter than of a standard HERO4, meaning it can fit in even smaller spaces, and offers greater mounting flexibility.
It’s waterproof and durable, so it’s great for skiing, surfing, kayaking and more. The camera captures 1080p60 video, and 8 megapixel stills. Automatic rotation makes sure your videos are shot right-side up no matter how you mount it. It’s also got dual microphones to improve sound quality, and supports Protune for optimal video quality. Built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth let you control the camera remotely with the GoPro app.
There’s a low-profile mounting bracket that lets you fit the camera in really tight spaces, but it will also work with all standard GoPro mounts.
Check out some sample footage captured with the HERO4 Session below. The video quality looks as good we’ve come to expect from GoPro.
There’s not yet an official launch date for the HERO4 Session, but it will sell for $399.99(USD), and you can sign up to be notified of availability on GoPro’s website.
